Your Spring Reset Starts Now
Can you feel the buds starting to push through the dirt. Yes, that’s you getting rid of the last bits of doom and gloom of winter. You made it. Spring is just about here and there are some things you can release in order to call in abundance, joy and motivation in order to build your dream life this year.
7 Things to Release Before the Spring Equinox:
- What are you rushing for?
- You can’t plant all the seeds this Spring
- Your thoughts have power
- Solutions over complaints
- Worst case scenario
- Is it really your dream?
- Because you want to try again
What are you rushing for?
This is the time of year where you want to do everything. The metaphorical and literal fog has lifted and it’s time to be perfect on your next big thing or else?
Or else what?
After spring comes summer, then fall, winter and spring again. There is ample time to reach your goals. If you have set your goals to only include 2026 you might feel behind, one fourth of the year is done. But if your yearly goals are linked to those big life goals that might take a handful of years to make there is feeling of understanding. The ability to work with the seasons of the year and the season of your life can help you ground yourself in the moment while trusting yourself to see your dreams come to life.
You can’t plant all the seeds this Spring:
I bet you feel like you need to do everything right now. If you don’t plant all the seeds then you might miss something and then your year is a waste. That is what winter is for. Collect the seeds, hold onto them, care for them and now you get to plant them.
Remember that a planted seed doesn’t sprout over night (we will get there).
This is the time to take inventory of all the elements of your life right now. What can you work towards? What can you focus on right now?
If you are multi passionate you might want to have many things on the go which is great! But also know that difference between sabotaging yourself with too many things (because you are scared to focus on a big dream of yours) and trying multiple things that contribute to your goals.
Your thoughts have power
Your mind is the wand you need to wield to bring your goals and dreams to life. What you think has power. If you spend all of winter hating everything (oops) and then spring thinking how hard it’s going to be to “get back on track” then it will. Imagine if you spend the rest of winter embracing rest. I trust this period of rest. I trust the seeds I am planting to come to fruition. I trust that I will take action towards my goals.
If you ruminate or have obsessive thought patterns this is a hard one to come to terms with. Sometimes your thoughts are wack and uncomfortable that you don’t want them to have power. This means you have to learn to differentiate between the types of thoughts that are happening. Is that an intrusive thought? Is that a self sabotaging thought? Is that an encouraging, uplifting thought?
Understanding your thought patterns is the tip of the iceberg. Bring awareness to all of this will help you learn to reassess how your brain makes you feel at any giving moment. If right now you are in the doom and gloom trenches what is one thing you can do right now to remove that train of thought (THIS IS HARD). Can you hold onto an ice cube? Shake your body? Take a shower? Scream into a pillow? Draw a picture? Watch your favourite moving but speak the dialogue out loud to interrupt your thoughts.
Believe me when I say that this is a hard process to fight. You can even note the thoughts patterns are not good or are self sabotaging but you still can’t break through. When this happens you have to ride the wave, give yourself space and kindness to simply exist.
The season will pass and you will have all those seeds to plant, water and nurture.
Solutions over complaints
Next is to opt for solutions over constant complaining. It is easy to fall into a bat of venting, ranting and trying to get everything off your chest. However, there is a threshold for this. If complaining is all that occurs when it comes to trying to achieve your goals you will not reach them.
This spring I want you to find one solution for a current problem. It does not need to be a massive problem but it will help you take action. Now, this doesn’t mean you can’t be upset, sad, frustrated at times. But for every complaint think of the solution.
Worst case scenario
Do you tend to be a worst case scenario thinking? Spend one day as a best case scenario thinker. Just one day. How does that feel? Is it weird, scary, uncomfortable? Good.
Embrace the uncomfortable while building your dream life.
Is it really your dream?
As you make vision boards and set goals I want you to really sit with this. Is this really your dream? Is this something you truly want to work towards even if it takes two, five, even ten years.
Or is it some concept that seems cool? Is it a path someone else wants you to take?
Before the Spring Equinox take a moment to decide what you want your life to look like in 1 year, 5 years and even 10 years from now. This might feel daunting or pointless. The ideal here is to see what the possibilities are. Hope. Dream. Believe you can achieve it.
Because you want to try again
And lastly, this spring as you start building out your plans. The most common deterrent is I tried this before and it didn’t work. Which to many people means you cannot try again. However, the reason you are going to start that habit again, going for that goal is simply because you want to try again. **
You want to try. You want to see if you can do it.
Spring is just about here. Take this time to reflect, release and plant a few seeds that you will nurture throughout this season.
