Movement
Do a 10 to 45 minute exercise routine every single day. This will help improve your mood, health and over all well being. It is recommended for women to do at least 30 minutes a day but you can build up to that over time. Here are 6 YouTube Videos that helped me show up consistently to my healthy and movement goals.
Stretching
Spending 5 to 10 minutes stretching each day can help improve your mood, flexibility, blood flow and overall health. You can insert this into your daily routine first thing in the morning or right before bed.
Breathwork
If you want to regulate your nervous system than breathwork is a great tool to have in your back pocket. When things get overwhelming or frustrating you can use breathwork to centre yourself. It can help you calm down, reset for the day and bring you back to the present moment.
Nutritious Food
Build your relationship with food as if she is your best friend, a caring individual who wants the best for you. I struggle with emotional eating – read more here – and it can take a big mental and physical toll on your health goals when food is an all consuming battle for you. Getting started with nutritious food does not need to be restrictive. Adding in one thing at a time can help build this daily habit. I also used a meal prep service for some lunches to help take the mental load of planning, cooking and storing food.
Creative Sessions
The best thing you can do to improve your day to day life is prioritizing creativity. This is the entire reason I started my 75 medium challenge. I almost did a 75 Creative to focus on my creative projects but I also wanted to focus on the exercise and food part as well. Set a time each day to work on a creative project you have in your house. I bet you have a few abandoned projects you can use right now.
Being more creative can help build your confidence, challenge yourself and have fun all at the same time.
Tidying Your Space
A messy space can make your mind feel cluttered and overwhelm. I believe that cluttered minds do not focus on goals. Start to implement a 5 minute tidy each night before bed. This can be part of your night routine in order to make sure you space is clean and clutter free to start the next day.
Journaling
Write down all your wants, wishes, dreams and fears to get them out of your head. Sometimes it is overwhelming in your own head with all the possibilities you can take with your life. If you are multi passionate creative like me a part of you wants to be perfect when it comes to your dream life or projects or business ideas and filtering through all those thoughts can get overwhelming.
Journaling is a great habit to do each morning for a fresh start or at night to recap your day. By starting a journaling practice you can watch yourself progress and come to an understanding of what you truly want out of life.
Reading to learn
And lastly, reading more books is essential to challenging yourself, learning new things and shifting your perspective. I had a boss who taught me that you can be a forever student in life because there is always something to learn. It can get easy to fall into the monotony of our day to day never being challenge with new ideas or thoughts which is why it needs to be intentional. If there is topic you want to learn more about but in a 15 to 30 minute daily learning session and read, take notes if needed and watch your life expand with each new thing you learn.
Starting new daily habits can be overwhelming and your all or nothing mind is trying to calculate how you fit all these habits into your day and week. It all comes down to your current schedule and life responsibilities combined with how you can manage your time to show up for these new habits.
