Your Mid Year Reset for the Best Summer Yet
What is a mid year reset?
A mid year reset is when you set time aside to review the first half of the year, reflect on what worked and then adjust, in order to build new habits and reach your goals.
When should you reset your life?
You can reset your life at any time. Some people do monthly resets or Sunday resets. A mid year reset should happen when you are feeling like you need to reconnect with your big goals and daily actions with the intention of looking towards the next six months.
The Benefits of a Mid Year Reset
- Refocus
- Reduce Stress
- Become organized
- Celebrate your accomplishments
5 Steps to Reset Your Life in 2026:
- Analyze
- Visualize
- Conceptualize
- Prioritize
- Apply
Analyze
First step is to look back at how far you have come. It is officially the 6th month of the year and with that can come defeat and overwhelm. Defeat because you might not have accomplished as much as you wanted to. And overwhelm because there is only 6 months left in 2026 to reach the goals you set for yourself.
As you look back I want you to remember how you thought these last six months were going to go? What did you plan? How much of that plan did you execute? What surprised you?
This exercise will help you learn that the best laid plans sometimes do not go the way you thought. So as you reset for the rest of the year I want you to have an open mind and make space for the unknown.
Visualize
Now is the time to reconnect with your vision. This can be your 2026 vision board or your five year vision board. But open it up, revive it and get ready to make big moves. This vision you have is yours. You can live that life. Believe it. See it. Taste it. It is yours.
Have fun with the visualization section. I want you to cook the dinner the dream life version of you would be eating right now. Get dress in slightly different way, embody this dream version of you in a small way right now.
Conceptualize
Step three is to bring a part of your vision into reality. This is the part where you have to blend delusion with reality. Many people dump a bucket of cold hold reality on their dreams making it impossible to start building the life you want because it seems impossible, improbable?
This is where you have to challenge your current way of thinking. Why not you? Why not that dream? Why not that job, relationship, financial goal? If the idea of dreaming big freaks you out its time to dig into your thought patterns and limiting beliefs.
Our thoughts do have power over our dreams. It might not seem like a very big thing but it will help you learn to give the best case scenario to flourish.
5 Questions to ask yourself to conceptualize your dream life?
- What is the story you are telling yourself about this dream life and where you are now?
- Is this your dream life or someone else’s? Why is it yours and not someone else’s?
- What would happen if you did not achieve this dream? Picture yourself as an 85 year old sitting down talking to someone who asked you, “Did you ever want to [insert your dream here?]” and see how that makes you feel. What excuse would 80 year old give? The same one you are giving now?
- If your dream life was 5 years away exactly. Would you take action right now or procrastinate for 4 years and panic for the last year and wonder why your dream life hasn’t come to fruition yet. Start now.
- Would you feel safe living the dream life you visualized above?
These questions are designed to get you thinking about how you see your dream life. Are you just going to brush it off or make the changes needed to bring it to life.
Dream lives don’t appear they are built with your daily, weekly and monthly habits.
Prioritize
Once you have a clear understanding of your vision and how it can look in your current reality then it is time to prioritize what you should be focusing on in the short term. If you want to pursue a specific career but right now it seems far fetched. Think about one skill that could help you in this career. Can you read about it, take a class, watch YouTube videos on it?
Another element to prioritizing your goals and habits is to under stand your energy levels. You might be a morning person but some days the only time to execute your goals is after 7pm. That is going to be uncomfortable but doable. And visa versa. If you thrive after 10pm but you feel sluggish and tired every morning when you have to get up for a shift. You need to prioritize what comes first. Your goals or comfort zone? Your dreams or your current ego?
Adapt
As your start a new routine your comfort zone is going to fight you at every step. Prioritizing an early morning only works if you execute it. Some mornings you will and others you won’t. You need to adapt to the version of you fighting to stay the same and future version of you that has all your goals and dreams already.
Now is the time to reconnect with your dreams, reset for the rest of the year and have fun building the dream life you promised your younger self.
The Mid Year Reset is the perfect time to shine a light on what is no longer working for your and to reach out for the things you crave.
