How do I know daily habits work?

I continued my 75 Medium Challenge all Summer. I decided to maintain my routine with a new challenge called Summer 93.

Here are the habits I followed:

  1. 7000 steps
  2. 30 minute workout
  3. 30 minute writing session
  4. 30 minute business session
  5. Journal 1 page a day
  6. Caloric Deficit 1800 – 2000 calories

The results:

I lost another 13lbs bringing my total to 26lbs within the challenges and 29lbs for the year so far.

In order to be successful there is one major mindset shift that focused on during my challenges this year.

Do it [insert emotion here].

Previously, if I was sad, mad, angry, annoyed or upset I would throw all my habits out the window. During the preparation of these challenges I told myself over and over again. You will do it angry. You will do it sad.

And when I tell you I put on a rage playlist and did my workout or I bawled my eyes while doing lunges and jumping jacks. Yup, I did that.

And honestly, the movement, the exercises helped my worked through those emotions as well. Instead of curling up in a ball and ignoring the goals I have put in place I pushed through.

The habits you put in place have to be a priority but also manageable.

Pick 5 habits from the list above and watch your life change one day at a time.
